Saturday Six - Episode 157

I'll start this week's edition with a bit of math: if you figure that there are 52 weeks in a year, three years would be equal to 156. Since this is the 157th edition of the Saturday Six, this happens also to be the first episode of the fourth year of this modest little meme. So this week, I'll bring back the ever popular Reader's Choice Question: all of the questions asked this week come from players of a March edition of the Sunday Seven.

Here are some frequently asked questions:

What is the Saturday Six? It's a meme consisting of six random questions. I post it each Saturday at various times of day. There is generally at least one mini-quiz among the questions and often follow-up questions that relate to that quiz's results.

What is the Sunday Seven? It's a different meme consisting of a single question for which there can be up to seven answers. I post it each Sunday at various times of day.

What's the point? Simple. To give bloggers a weekly game to play that also encourages them to visit each other's sites. Whether you play or not, you can always check out the comments of those who have, visit their blogs, and find some interesting new places to enjoy. That's how it all began.

Do I have to play both? No. You can play either or both, any time.

Okay...how do I play? There are two ways: you can either leave your answers in a comment here, or answer the questions in your own blog then come back here and leave a link to your post. It's up to you. All I ask is that if you play at your blog, you post a link back here so that your readers can visit and possibly join in.

What's the deadline? Almost every week, someone posts in a comment that they were "late" to play. Actually, there's no such thing as "too late." You can play any time. If you don't like this week's questions and want to play a different set, just check out the archives and find one you like better. You can play the day the memes are posted, later in the week, or you can go back and play a set from years ago.

What's this "first to play" thing? Basically, it's a tip of the hat to the blogger who was eagle-eyed enough to play before anyone else. But there's a catch: This is the blogger who was the first one to either answer the question here in a comment or the first one to leave the complete link to the specific entry in his or her blog in which he answered the question. In other words, a link to your blog's main page won't be counted for "first to play;" you have to leave the full URL that points to the single post in which you answered the question. You may also embed the complete URL into a more reader-friendly hyperlink if you wish; as long as the link contains the full URL for the specific post, that's fine. If the first commenter doesn't do one or the other, the first commenter after them who does will be named "first to play."

What's a "Reader's Choice Question?" Sometimes, the players will be invited to submit their own questions to be asked in future editions. Just click the email link in my profile and send me your questions.
